Cold Weather For The New Year!

Cold nights ahead 🌙❄️

Around 31° on the 31st - New Year’s Eve — not cold enough to panic, but a great reminder to 1) go get your fire 🔥 starter log from Dollar Tree because you know how we shut everything down, stay on the couch in our jammies in front of the fireplace, and try to stay awake to watch the ball drop on TV 📺 , 2) slow cook your roux till it’s dark brown for a deep rich flavor, stay traditional with the holy trinity, and add chicken 🐓 stock not just water, 3) get yourself to Mass on Thursday or vigil Mass Wednesday because January 1st is a Holy Day of obligation for the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, and lastly 4) insulate your exposed water pipes and put up barriers to block the wind 💨 on raised houses. Your pipes won’t freeze but you’ll be ready when it gets really cold later this winter 🥶.
