A/C Condensate Water Drain Line Clogged in Lafayette, La

We had a client in Lafayette whose A/C condensate water drain line in the attic clogged up and overflowed from an indirect connection causing minor water damage to their ceiling and walls inside their house.

We discovered the condensate drain line was not actually glued to the p-trap in the ceiling for the vent system, where the condensate water drains into.

We glued a 90° elbow with a 1 inch bushing to keep water from overflowing again through the indirect connection.

Now, if the condensate drain ever clogs up again, the water will back up into the drain pan for the A/C handler in the attic, which has automatic shut off sensors if it gets wet, which alerts the client that something wrong with the A/C when it is not working.
